Krypton Trailer Reveals The Saga Of Superman's Homeworld
We all know what happened to Superman's birth family—now you'll get the story of how they lived.
Syfy has released the first full trailer for its upcoming DC Comics series Krypton, which will serve as a prequel to the adventures of Superman and Supergirl. (Think of it like an offworld Gotham.)
Set two full centuries before the birth of Superman, Krypton will follow the story of Kal-El's ancestor, Seyg-El, as he attempts to bring his once-honorable House of El back from disgrace while saving the doomed world of Krypton from chaos.
The new series will star Cameron Cuffe of Florence Foster Jenkins in the lead role, along with Shaun Sipos as the displaced Earthling Adam Strange, Ian McElhinney as Val-El, Elliot Cowan as Daron-Vex, Ann Ogobomo as Alura Zod, Rasmus Hardiker as Kem, Wallis Day as Nyssa-Vs, and Aaron Pierre as Dev-Em. Blake Ritson and Paula Malcomson are also set to appear.
Krypton is the creation of David S. Goyer, who previously wrote the screenplays for Man of Steel, Batman Begins, and Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. Goyer is serving as an executive producer on the series, with Sleepy Hollow's Damian Kindler handling the day-to-day duties of showrunning. The pilot episode is directed by Peaky Blinders, Black Mirror, and Sherlock director Colm McCarthy, with a story by Goyer and Ian Goldberg.
Krypton premieres on Syfy on March 21. Check out the trailer for the prequel series up above.
