Dwayne Johnson Tests His Limits In Skyscraper Super Bowl Trailer
Dwayne Johnson has to rescue his family in the first trailer for his upcoming action film Skyscraper.
Skyscraper features the Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle actor as a war veteran and former FBI Hostage Rescue Team leader who is tasked with assessing security for skyscrapers. While on assignment in China, Johnson's character finds that the tallest, safest building in the world has been set ablaze– and people think he did it. To make matters even worse, his family is trapped inside the building above the fire line. A wanted man, Johnson's character must go on the run while he hunts down those responsible and clears his name. "This isn't going to end the way you want it to," he is warned in the trailer before he leaps towards the burning building.
In his typical fashion, Johnson has been pumping audiences up for Skyscraper for a while now, sharing bloody images of himself from set and fawning over each new cast addition. When announcing that the trailer was coming out during the Super Bowl, he praised the movie for being "an original concept of an idea... a film not based off a franchise, book, ride or existing brand."
Neve Campbell, Pablo Schreiber, Noah Taylor, Chin Han, Byron Mann, Roland Moller, and Hannah Quinlivan are also set to star in Skyscraper, which is written and directed by Central Intelligence's Rawson Marshall Thurber. Johnson will produce alongside Thurber and Beau Flynn (Requiem for a Dream). Dany Garcia (Baywatch) and Hiram Garcia (Furious 7) will executive produce, while Wendy Jacobson (San Andreas) co-produces.
Skyscraper hits theaters on July 13.
