Solo: A Star Wars Story Full Teaser Trailer Released
We finally got confirmation that, yes, Solo: A Star Wars Story does actually exist in a form just about ready for audiences. We also got confirmation that it looks pretty freaking impressive.
The first teaser arrived during the Super Bowl, and now we have the first full trailer. If it's any indication of the rest of the movie, it could help ease some of the pain of The Last Jedi haters. Look at that shot of that Star Destroyer coming through the clouds. Look at young Lando (Donald Glover) in that coat. Look at young Chewbacca before the galaxy had worn him down.
Alden Ehrenreich stars as the young version of Han Solo, and he's kind of a love-him-or-hate-him kind of choice. But the trailer is definitely encouraging. Ehrenreich and Glover are joined by Woody Harrelson as Han's mentor in the seedy world of smuggling, Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones), Paul Bettany (Avengers: Age of Ultron), and Thandie Newton (Westworld).
It's been a bumpy ride for the Han Solo prequel since it was first announced in 2013. The original directors, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller (The LEGO Movie), were fired midway through production when their vision didn't quite align with that of Lucasfilm. The studio promptly called in Ron Howard (Apollo 13) to pick up where they left off.
Solo: A Star Wars Story lands in theaters May 25.
