Aquaman Trailer Reportedly Arriving Next Weekend
It's almost time to come up for air.
The first trailer for Aquaman, the James Wan-directed, Jason Momoa-starring undersea superhero adventure in the DC Extended Universe, is reportedly set to be released later this month, according to a report by That Hashtag Show.
The trailer will be released as a part of the programming for WonderCon Anaheim 2018, making its premiere during the Warner Bros. panel on Saturday, March 24 between 12:25 and 1:10 pm.
According to the report, the Aquaman first look is expected to be joined by new trailers for Ready Player One and Teen Titans Go!, among others.
Momoa recently played Aquaman as part of the ensemble in Justice League, with the character having previously made his debut in a small cameo in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. This will mark the first time outside of HBO's Entourage that the Atlantean king has ever headlined a solo feature.
If early buzz is to be believed, WB might have a real winner on their hands with Aquaman, with initial reports from test audiences indicating that the movie — particularly its action sequences — puts every other feature in the DCEU to shame, including the relatively well-received Wonder Woman. Considering that tepid early buzz for Justice League and Batman v Superman turned out to be more-or-less accurate, it'll be interesting to see just how Wan and company might have pulled it off.
In addition to Momoa in the lead role of Arthur Curry/Aquaman, the movie will also star Amber Heard as Mera, Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko, Patrick Wilson as Orm the Ocean Master, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Temuera Morrison as Thomas Curry, Nicole Kidman as Queen Atlanna, and Dolph Lundgren as King Nereus.
Aquaman will be released in theaters on December 21.
