Jeremy Renner Is The Champion In Star-Studded Tag Trailer
If you thought games of tag had to be contained to just one elementary school recess, you're in for a surprise. Turns out the childhood game can be a lifelong commitment.
Warner Bros. released the first trailer for Tag, an upcoming all-star comedy that brings together Jeremy Renner (Avengers: Infinity War), Jon Hamm (Mad Men), Ed Helms (The Hangover), Jake Johnson (New Girl), and Hannibal Buress (Spider-Man: Homecoming) for some serious fun and games.
Based on an improbable but amazingly true story, the movie centers on a group of longtime friends who have been playing the same game of tag for three decades. The game takes place for just one month each year, but it now happens to coincide with the wedding of the game's only undefeated player (Renner). He realizes that he's an easy target, so he goes above and beyond to stay one step ahead of his scheming pals.
However, Tag became frighteningly real for Renner, who fractured his left wrist and right elbow while filming the movie (via Entertainment Weekly). Still, he was in good enough shape to reprise his Marvel role as Hawkeye in Avengers: Infinity War, which hits theaters next month.
Directed by Jeff Tomsic (This Is Not Happening), Tag also stars Annabelle Wallis (The Mummy), Rashida Jones (Angie Tribeca), Isla Fisher (Wedding Crashers), and Leslie Bibb (Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby).
Check out the first trailer above and watch for the comedy to arrive in theaters on June 15.
