Narcos' Pedro Pascal Joins Wonder Woman 2

Pedro Pascal has joined the upcoming Wonder Woman sequel. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Narcos and Game of Thrones star is set to appear in the DC superhero film in an undisclosed role.

Wonder Woman is set to take place in the 1980s, with the Cold War serving as the backdrop. Although plot details are being kept under wraps, we do know that the movie will bring back Gal Gadot's Diana Prince as well as director Patty Jenkins, who has also been working on the script for the film. The movie is also set to star Saturday Night Live's Kristen Wiig as the villain Cheetah. It is also possible that the first film's Chris Pine could return, potentially as a relative of his deceased character Steve Trevor.

Jenkins recently said that the second film, which will take place in America, will be "totally different" than the first movie, but that it will still bring in a lot of the similar elements that "we love." "It's an entirely new adventure that we couldn't be luckier [to do]," she told Entertainment Canada Tonight. There's clearly a lot of audience demand for a sequel — the first film was a huge box office success, earning $821.8 million worldwide. (via Box Office Mojo)

Pascal previously worked with Jenkins on the ABC TV movie Exposed. Pascal has also starred on the Netflix series Narcos and played Oberyn Martell in HBO's hit Game of Thrones. His other notable roles include Kingsman: The Golden Circle, The Great Wall, The Mentalist, Graceland, Homeland, and The Good Wife. Pascal also had a role in David E. Kelley's failed Wonder Woman pilot, starring Adrianna Palicki as the title character. (via Deadline)

Wonder Woman 2, which will reportedly start filming this summer, will hit theaters on Nov. 1, 2019.
