Ant-Man And The Wasp Trailer Buzzes With Action And Humor

Heroes come in all sizes.

Days after Marvel Studios unleashed Avengers: Infinity War onto the eager masses, it unveiled the full-length trailer for Ant-Man and the Wasp — which answers a question everyone has been asking post-Infinity War: Where has Paul Rudd's Ant-Man been? As it happens, the subatomic superhero has had his hands full in partnering with the Wasp, the fellow pint-sized vigilante played by Evangeline Lilly, who is Ant-Man's only hope at saving the world from evildoers.

Featuring lots of light-hearted moments (like the sweet conversation between Rudd's Scott Lang and Abby Ryder Fortson's Cassie Lang), witty quips (like Michael Peña's Luis pointing out to Michael Douglas' Hank Pym the irony behind him asking men who previously stole from him for help), and plenty of action (that doesn't involve a bunch of characters dying), the official Ant-Man and the Wasp trailer is the respite Marvel fans need following the darkness of Avengers: Infinity War.

In addition to dishing up hilarity and heart, Ant-Man and the Wasp will further explore Ant-Man's absence from Infinity War. As screenwriters Christopher Markus revealed to The Hollywood Reporter's Heat Vision, "Ant-Man, the franchise, is very light-hearted. It's fun. It maybe even skews younger. If we were to put Ant-Man in this extremely heavy movie, and then have to say to the guys who are making the Ant-Man movie, 'Yeah, he went through hell, but now go ahead and have your little romp and we'll pick it up afterwards,' that's why we have to really sort of manage your interconnections and go, 'Let's go and hold off so you can enjoy that without feeling a bad taste in your mouth.'"

Directed by Peyton Reed, Ant-Man and the Wasp features Michelle Pfeiffer as Janet van Dyne (the original Wasp), Laurence Fishburne as Bill Foster (who has been Black Goliath and Giant-Man in the Marvel Comics lore), Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, Walton Goggins as Sonny Burch, Bobby Cannavale as Paxton, Randall Park as Jimmy Woo, Tip "T.I." Harris as Dave, David Dastmalchian as Kurt, and Judy Greer as Maggie Lang.

Here's what to expect from Ant-Man and the Wasp: "From the Marvel Cinematic Universe comes Ant-Man and the Wasp, a new chapter featuring heroes with the astonishing ability to shrink. In the aftermath of Captain America: Civil War, Scott Lang grapples with the consequences of his choices as both a superhero and a father. As he struggles to rebalance his home life with his responsibilities as Ant-Man, he's confronted by Hope van Dyne and Dr. Hank Pym with an urgent new mission. Scott must once again put on the suit and learn to fight alongside the Wasp as the team works together to uncover secrets from the past."

Ant-Man and the Wasp is set to fly into cinemas on July 6.
