It: Chapter Two Casts James Ransone As Grown-Up Eddie

It: Chapter Two is continuing to work magic with its casting.

James Ransone has joined the cast of the upcoming horror sequel to play the grown-up version of Eddie Kaspbrak, according to a report by Deadline.

Ransone joins a cast that includes Jessica Chastain as the grown-up Bev Marsh, with Bill Hader and James McAvoy having been in talks a month ago to sign on as the adult Richie Tozier and Bill Denbrough, respectively.

Eddie was played in the 2017 movie by Jack Dylan Grazer, who has a role in the upcoming DC superhero movie Shazam!

Ransone is known for his character work on series like The Wire, Generation Kill, Bosch, and Mosaic, as well as movies like Tangerine, Gemini, and In a Valley of Violence. He also has experience in the horror genre, starring in both Sinister movies. In addition to booking this big-screen job, he has an upcoming role in the Hulu series The First.

The second chapter of It, set for release on September 6, 2019, will be set 27 years after the events of the first movie, focusing on adult versions of the young characters returning to Derry, Maine to defeat the otherworldly menace known as Pennywise once and for all.

Like the first movie, It: Chapter Two will be directed by Andy Muschetti, with a script by Gary Dauberman. Production on the movie is expected to begin in Toronto this summer.
