Dave Bautista Confirms Drax Will Be In Avengers 4, Guardians Vol. 3

Drax the Destroyer isn't done for.
Actor Dave Bautista recently revealed to Collider that he still has a place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, despite falling to pieces in Avengers: Infinity War. The Guardians of the Galaxy star's Drax was among the many fan-favorite characters to literally bite the dust after Thanos (Josh Brolin) snapped his Infinity Gauntlet-covered hand and killed half the universe's population in an act he thought was merciful, but Bautista has confirmed his character will make a comeback in both Avengers 4 and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. The only catch? Bautista doesn't know how Drax will return.
"[After Avengers: Infinity War] I got a lot of texts saying, 'I can't believe you're dead, your character is dead.' They were really like heartbroken and I was like, 'I'm gonna be in [Avengers] 4. I'm gonna be in Guardians 3,'" Bautista said. "I don't know how they're bringing me back, yeah, but somehow I'm going to make it because, as far as I know, I am going to be in Guardians 3, so I have to be back."
Many Marvel enthusiasts have speculated that the heroes that crumbled into weird space dust wouldn't stay dead, particularly the ones, like Bautista's Drax and Tom Holland's Spider-Man, that are set to appear in set-in-stone upcoming MCU sequels. Hearing that Drax will be in Avengers 4 and Guardians Vol. 3 is fantastic news for fans, but the question as to how he'll return still lingers. With Avengers 4 slated to launch on May 3, 2019 — about a year after the time of writing — at least there's plenty of time to come up with exciting new theories to offer up an answer.
