The Walking Dead TV Series And Comics Will Have Different Endings
If you're looking to Robert Kirkman's The Walking Dead comics for clues about the AMC series, you're heading toward a dead end.
In the season finale of Kevin Smith's Geeking Out, Kirkman confirmed that he knows how he wants the comic series to end, and it won't necessarily have anything to do with the events of the hit TV show.
"I hope [when] the show ends, the comic keeps going," Kirkman said. "The comic was the comic before the show, so I try to maintain that. I know how I'm going to end The Walking Dead, so I can't tell anyone, because I don't want it in the show before I get it in my comic."
That means Kirkman hasn't even shared his vision with showrunner Scott Gimple. "If the show were to end at any point and the comic was still going, I would have to sit down with Scott and pretend I had no idea how to end it and work with him and try and come up with a new ending," Kirkman said.
Meanwhile, the seventh season of the TV series is set to premiere Oct. 23. While we try to guess which of the survivors Negan killed in the Season 6 finale, the official synopsis for Season 7 reveals that the new villain's reign of terror has already begun.
