Iron Fist: Netflix Reveals Premiere Date, Action-Packed Photo
By this spring, all of Marvel's Defenders (well, the ones with their own Netflix series) will exist in the MCU.
Just days after the premiere of Luke Cage, Netflix has revealed that the upcoming Iron Fist series will arrive March 17, 2017.
The show stars Game of Thrones' Finn Jones (he played Loras Tyrell) as Danny Rand, a man who returns to New York City after being missing for years. When he gets back home, he takes on crime and corruption using kung-fu mastery and the ability to summon the mystic energy of the Iron Fist.
Scott Buck (Dexter, Six Feet Under) adapted the comic book character for TV, and the show also features Jessica Henwick as Colleen Wing and David Wenham (The Lord of the Rings) as Harold Meachum.
As ScreenRant points out, Iron Fist has a close connection to Luke Cage in the comics as the pair eventually create their own business called Heroes for Hire. Luke Cage showrunner Cheo Hodari Coker recently hinted to Decider that a storyline about the duo could surface in Season 2 of his series. But the debut of Iron Fist also sets the stage for the Netflix series based on The Defenders, a superhero squad that also includes Daredevil and Jessica Jones.
