Assassin's Creed: Watch The Time-Jumping New Trailer
Michael Fassbender will take a stab at video game adaptations with the upcoming Assassin's Creed, and the new trailer shows a lot of promise.
Based on the hit Ubisoft series, the movie follows death row inmate Callum Lynch (Fassbender), who winds up in a mysterious facility run by Abstergo. There, he enters a device called the "Animus," which forces him to live out the past memories of his 15th century ancestor Aguilar de Nerha, who just so happens to live during the Spanish Inquisition. While in the past, he's tasked with finding an important object.
The movie sees Fassbender reunited with his Macbeth director Justin Kurzel and co-star Marion Cotillard, and the cast also includes Jeremy Irons, Michael K. Williams, and Brendan Gleeson.
Assassin's Creed hits theaters Dec. 21. While we wait, check out a few video game movies that never came to fruition.
