New Trailer For The Lego Batman Movie Is Action-Packed, Adorable
There's no version of Batman we'd rather hang out with than this one. Unfortunately, the height difference might be a problem.
Warner Bros. released a new trailer for The LEGO Batman Movie, and it just might be the best thing you'll watch today. Check it out above and see what we mean.
Will Arnett reprises his role as the Caped Crusader from The LEGO Movie, and this time the spotlight is firmly on him (and, you know, all his friends and arch-enemies). Arnett's Arrested Development co-star Michael Cera plays Robin while Zach Galifianakis plays the Joker. The cast also includes Rosario Dawson as Barbara Gordon/Batgirl, Ralph Fiennes as Alfred Pennyworth, and Mariah Carey as the mayor of Gotham (obviously).
From the look of the new trailer, the animation is spectacular, but it's the self-referential humor that makes it truly amazing. Watch carefully, and you'll spot plenty of references to aspects of the Batman universe and even a nod to Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
Chris McKay is directing the movie from a script by Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter creator Seth Grahame-Smith. Phil Lord and Chris Miller, who directed The LEGO Movie, are producing along with Dan Lin.
Meanwhile, The LEGO Movie 2, which was originally slated to drop in 2018, has been delayed to February 2019.
