Arrow, Flash, Supergirl Crossover Trailer Reveals Alien Dominators

It would take something pretty big to bring together all of the CW's DC superheroes for an epic four-night crossover event, but an alien invasion would definitely fit that bill. (Although Supergirl is also an alien, she's much easier on the eyes than these new guys.)

The CW unveiled a new trailer for the crossover between Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, and Legends of Tomorrow, and it provides our first look at the evil Dominators who will wreak so much havoc. In the clip, Flash describes them as "like World War Z zombies," and he's not far off.

A little while back, Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow showrunner Marc Guggenheim told Entertainment Weekly how the Dominators came into the mix. "We're taking inspiration from a DC crossover from the late 1980s known as Invasion!, which featured an alien race called the Dominators, who'd previously vexed the Legion of Superheroes," he said. "We're using cutting-edge prosthetics and computer effects to achieve a feature film quality look which is faithful to Invasion! artist Todd McFarlane's interpretation of the characters."

In Invasion!, the Dominators are members of an advanced alien race who enlist other aliens to invade Earth in order to vanquish the threat and unpredictability of metahumans.

The trailer also includes footage of the return of Deathstroke (Manu Bennett). Of course, True Blood's Joe Manganiello is set to play the character in Ben Affleck's upcoming Batman flick, if and when that actually becomes a real thing.
