Transformers: The Last Knight Teaser Trailer Rolls Out
We've got our first official glimpse of Transformers: The Last Knight, and it definitely looks explosive. (After all, this is a Michael Bay flick.)
Although short on plot details, the teaser trailer provides plenty of action, some intriguing hints, and an ominous Anthony Hopkins voiceover. The takeaway is that the Transformers have been a part of Earth's history for a very long time, from the days of King Arthur (nobody must have informed Bay that King Arthur is fictional) to Nazi Germany in World War II.
We find Optimus Prime nearly destroyed and floating through space after the events of Transformers: Age of Extinction, but he definitely returns and ends up battling Bumblebee for some reason. Extinction's Mark Wahlberg also returns as Cade Yeager, and he'll be joined by returning actors Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, Stanley Tucci, and John Turturro.
But the big reveal might be the presence of Unicron, the massive robot who factored heavily into the 1986 animated feature Transformers: The Movie. Although nothing is official, there are plenty of scenes in the teaser that sure look reminiscent of Unicron's horns and his tendency to devour planets in one sitting.
There's no official release date given, but Transformers: The Last Knight is expected to arrive June 23, 2017. Meanwhile, check out more footage unveiled in this IMAX featurette.
