Spider-Man: Homecoming Trailer Finally Revealed
At long last, the first official trailer for Spider-Man: Homecoming is here, and it looks truly amazing.
Instead of giving us another origin story, the movie picks up after the events of Captain America: Civil War, and finds Peter Parker (Tom Holland) bored with his life as a regular high school student. But he spends his free time fighting crime on the side, with hopes of one day joining the Avengers.
However, his mentor Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) doesn't think he's ready yet, and tells him to let someone else handle Vulture (Michael Keaton), the "flying monster guy" looming. (Keaton looks genuinely terrifying as the classic comic book villain.)
The trailer proves that director Jon Watts is giving us a fresh new take on Spider-Man, one that will finally make Peter Parker seem like an actual kid. And if you look closely (around 1:53), we get our first glimpse of Donald Glover, whose role in the flick has yet to be revealed.
Spider-Man: Homecoming lands in theaters July 7, 2017. While we try to contain our excitement, check out Spider-Man facts you may not know.
