Star Wars Actor In Talks To Play Aquaman's Father
An actor from the Star Wars prequels may be joining another famous franchise.
Temuera Morrison, who played Jango Fett in Star Wars: Episode II- Attack of the Clones, is in negotiations to join the cast of the upcoming DC film Aquaman, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Morrison would play Aquaman's human father Tom Curry, who, in the comics, is a lighthouse keeper who falls in love with Queen Atlanna of Atlantis. Nicole Kidman is currently in talks to play Atlanna.
This would not be Morrison's first venture into superheroes. In 2011, he played Abin Sur in Ryan Reynold's Green Lantern. He is also known for voicing Chief Tui in Disney's Moana.
Jason Momoa will be suiting up as Aquaman, while Amber Heard will play his love interest Mera. Willem Defoe will play his advisor Dr. Vulko and Patrick Wilson will play his villainous half-brother Orm. THR reported earlier this week that The Get Down star Yahya Abdul-Mateen II was in early talks to play the film's villain, Black Manta.
James Wan (Saw) will direct. Filming is set to start in April, with an Oct. 5, 2018 release date. While we wait, see how inaccurate Aquaman's (and other DC superheroes') film costumes are when compared to the comics.
