Hulu Releases New Handmaid's Tale Teaser

Hulu is putting some big money behind The Handmaid's Tale, purchasing its first ever Super Bowl ad for an original series for the dystopian drama.

Based on the novel by Margaret Atwood, The Handmaid's Tale follows the story of Offred (Elisabeth Moss), one of an ever-dwindling caste of fertile woman forced into sexual servitude to the rich men of society in order to repopulate the totalitarian Gilead.

While the first teaser, released in early January, mostly focused on what happened at the beginnings of Gilead's formation, the new teaser, which was released online on Friday, spends more time on Offred's life as a Handmaid, giving a glimpse at Joseph Fiennes' Commander and Yvonne Strahovski's Serena Joy.

"We only wanted to make the world better," the Commander says. "Better never means better for everyone."

The new teaser ends with the same eerie line as the first: "My name is Offred and I intend to survive."

The Handmaid's Tale (one of our TV shows that will blow everyone away in 2017) also stars Alexis Bledel as fellow Handmaid Ofglen, Samira Wiley as the revolutionary Moira, Max Minghella as the Commander's chauffeur Nick and O.T. Fagbenle as Offred's former husband Luke.

The show premieres on Hulu on April 26.
