Elena Has Questions In First Vampire Diaries Series Finale Teaser

Elena Gilbert is back in Mystic Falls in the (very brief) first teaser for the upcoming series finale.

Actress Nina Dobrev confirmed last month that she would be returning to the show for the finale, sharing a picture of the script for the episode, titled "I Was Feeling Epic," on her Instagram page. Her character Elena was written off the show at the end of season six after sacrificing herself to save Bonnie by putting herself into a deep sleep.

The new, ten second teaser sees Elena looking into a trophy case at Mystic Falls High School, asking, "What happened? Why am I here right now?"

While it doesn't give much of a clue of what happens in the finale, it does hint that the focus will be on Elena, something which creator Julie Plec has said is very important to her.

"I'm thrilled to bring this show to an end the way we always intended– with Nina back to help us say goodbye," she said after Dobrev announced her return.

The series recently wrapped filming, with Ian Somerhalder, who plays Damon, the last to leave the set, according to a post on his Instagram.

The Vampire Diaries will write its final entry on March 10 at 8 p.m. on The CW. Until then, read up on the show's surprising history.
