Watch A Four-Minute Prologue To Alien: Covenant
It's apparently a bad idea to let your guard down in space, even when you're having a couple drinks.
The official prologue to Alien: Covenant has been released, and the four-minute clip is just as informative as it is ominous. Although there's no sign of any Xenomorphs (or "Neomorphs," as they're reportedly called in the flick), there's a lot of exposition packed into the footage.
It follows the crew of the colony ship Covenant, including Katherine Waterston as Daniels, Michael Fassbender as one of his two android characters in the film, and Danny McBride being typically Danny McBride.
But it also provides a look at surprise cast member James Franco, who plays the captain of the ship and his character isn't looking very well at all. Of course, that keeps in line with reports that Franco only appears in a small portion of the movie.
The scene is also reminiscent of the iconic dinner scene in the original 1979 classic Alien, although no tiny creatures pop out of anyone's chest. Well, not yet, at least.
And although Covenant is a sequel to Prometheus, the dark and industrial tone of the film looks to be more akin to the original Alien.
Alien: Covenant lands in theaters May 19. It's definitely one of the movies we can't wait to see this year.
