Brie Larson And Armie Hammer Shoot Straight In New Free Fire Trailer
Brie Larson and Armie Hammer are rocking some pretty intense 70s style in the new trailer for their upcoming action thriller Free Fire.
In the movie, set in 1978, two gangs meet up in a deserted warehouse to participate in an arms deal that ends up going horribly wrong, leading to an epic shootout. In addition to Larson and Hammer, Sharlto Copley, Cillian Murphy, and Jack Reynor also star. Ben Wheatley (High-Rise) directed the movie and co-wrote the script with Amy Jump (Kill List). Martin Scorsese executive produced.
The new trailer highlights the action that was shown in the first while also showcasing some of the movie's funnier moments. Complaints of perfume smells, dust, allergies, and more interject the shooting, showing that this won't just be a typical action flick. The teaser also features a pretty epic moment from future Captain Marvel star Larson, which we'll let you watch and see. "When everyone's crooked, you'd better shoot straight," the trailer teases.
The movie, which screened at SXSW last night, has received mostly positive reviews thus far, with many praising its innovative concept and high action. Hammer said at an SXSW panel (via Entertainment Weekly) that part of what makes the film great was the idea to shoot the whole thing in the warehouse. "It was really ambitious idea to shoot it all in once space because even though you only have one space, the devil's in the details with something like that and you lose the geography of that really quickly if you're not careful," he said. "Everything was so meticulously planned out."
Free Fire is due out on April 21. In the meantime, see other movie releases you won't want to miss that month.
