Henry Cavill Continues To Troll Green Lantern Fans
Henry Cavill continues to tease a big Green Lantern-related reveal. This time, the tease comes courtesy of a post on his Instagram showing him rehabbing after a knee injury. "Just working towards improvement by pushing hard enough to elicit change," he wrote. "Nothing funny to post here, it's deadly serious because I've got to make sure that I'm bigger than Green Lantern....Wait whaaat?"
This isn't the first time that Cavill has talked about the character, leading some fans to believe that the studio could be currently casting (or already have a specific actor in mind) so that Green Lantern can make a cameo appearance at the end of Justice League ahead of the already announced Green Lantern Corps movie. In late February, Cavill spurred rumors by posting a pic of his pup staring off a balcony with the caption, "Kal looking for Hal," followed by a pic of himself saying "Other Kal looking for Hal," with a figure of Green Lantern casually in the background.
One of the names most frequently attached to Green Lantern is The Social Network star Armie Hammer, who recently kept mum when asked by Screen Rant about the rumors. However, Hammer did say that a shoulder injury which he recently had surgery for won't make him "hobbled for the rest of my life," meaning that he doesn't doubt his ability to get in superhero shape again. Hammer has liked some of Cavill's Green Lantern-related posts on Instagram, although the two recently worked together on The Man From U.N.C.L.E. and could just be being friendly (or trying to fuel fan freak outs even further).
Green Lantern has, of course, already gotten a movie, with future Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds at the center. However, the film was a notorious flop, doing so awfully with critics and at the box office that the studio canceled the plan sequel. The character is definitely ready for a reboot (possibly in the form of someone who is not Hal Jordan), and, with Cavill's repeated teases, it seems like they may be nearing a leading man. Or, you know, he's just trolling us. See the post for yourself below.
