The Leftovers Final Season Trailer Says The End Is Near

We already knew HBO's The Leftovers would come to an end this season, but a new trailer hints that it'll also bring an end to all of humanity–on the show, at least.

While the first season established the intriguing premise of the series (in which 2% of the world's population simultaneously disappears), showrunner Damon Lindelof took things in an even more ambitious direction in season 2. Now it sounds like the third and final season will bring an ending of biblical proportions.

The season takes place around the seven-year anniversary of the Sudden Departure, and everyone is on edge. While some are sure it's the end of days, others like Kevin Garvey (Justin Theroux) aren't entirely convinced. And if you're looking for religious metaphors, the trailer points out that you don't need to look much farther than Kevin's beard.

If you haven't watched the show, now is the time to binge. It also stars Carrie Coon, Amy Brenneman, Christopher Eccleston, Regina King, and Liv Tyler.

The Leftovers Season 3 premieres on April 16th. While we waterproof all our stuff, check out why the show is better than you might think.
