Judy Greer Isn't Sure She'll Be Back For Ant-Man And The Wasp
Another Ant-Man cast member isn't sure if they will be back for the upcoming sequel. Shortly after Michael Pena, who played Scott's ex-cell mate Luis, said that he has yet to receive the call for Ant-Man and the Wasp, Judy Greer, who played Scott's ex-wife Maggie, has said that she also hasn't been told of her involvement. "They haven't asked, so I'm willing to campaign for it," Greer told Vulture. "I'd love to. Working with Paul [Rudd] and Bobby [Cannavale] was amazing, and then [director] Peyton Reed is amazing."
Ant-Man and the Wasp, which is set to start filming in July, will feature Paul Rudd's return as the title character while also serving as a kind of origin story for Evangeline Lilly's Wasp. Michael Douglas has confirmed his return to the franchise, but, other than that, the cast and plot for the movie have been kept tightly under wraps.
Greer being unsure about her involvement offers even more questions about the direction of the sequel. Both she and Pena were stand-outs in the first movie, and they also played big parts in Scott's story. If they truly aren't coming back for the second movie, it could imply that the film will focus much more heavily on Hope and her story than on Scott. (Reed has said that the film will be "every bit as much her movie as it is Scott Lang's.") However, it still seems unlikely that both Greer and Pena will be left out of the movie entirely when they were both so important in the original.
Ant-Man and the Wasp is due out on July 6, 2018. In the meantime, see the unexpected things that could happen in Marvel's Phase 3.
