Woody Harrelson Reveals The Name Of His Star Wars Character
Ever since Woody Harrelson signed up for Star Wars back in January 2017, film fans across the galaxy have been dying to learn more about his role in the upcoming Han Solo movie. Up until now, we only knew he was going to play the young smuggler's mentor, but recently, Harrelson dropped an interesting detail about his character on The Tonight Show.
While it was obvious that Harrelson was eager to discuss his recent film, Lost in London, Jimmy Fallon used his best Jedi mind tricks to get the actor to open up about his new sci-fi project. For the most part, Harrelson remained mum—secrecy is pretty tight aboard the good ship Star Wars—but he did throw the enthusiastic talk show host a bone, revealing the name of his new character.
"I play a guy named Beckett," Harrelson revealed, "who's kind of a criminal and a mentor to Han."
True, that's not much to go on, but since we're over a year away from seeing this movie on the big screen, we'll take any details we can get. Surprisingly, the actor also admitted that he isn't the world's biggest Star Wars fan. When Fallon asked about his interest in the franchise, Harrelson replied, "You know, I like it. I wasn't ever a fanatic, but yeah, it's nice to be a part of it."
In addition to his Tonight Show appearance, Harrelson recently told Collider that he thinks Han Solo: A Star Wars Story might just be the best film in the whole series. That's a pretty bold claim, and while we're fairly positive nothing will ever top the original trilogy, we're still pretty psyched to see what Harrelson has in store. Of course, if you can't wait that long for your Han Solo fix, be sure to check out all the actors who were almost cast in Star Wars, including a very frightening film star who tried out for the part of our favorite space scoundrel.
