Watch The Trailer For Colin Trevorrow's The Book Of Henry
The day after releasing a gorgeous new poster, Colin Trevorrow has officially dropped the trailer for his upcoming Jurassic World follow-up The Book of Henry. The drama, directed by Trevorrow based on a script from Gregg Hurwitz (V), follows Henry (Jaeden Lieberher) and his younger brother Peter (Jacob Tremblay), who are raised by their single mom Susan (Naomi Watts). Henry writes a book with a plan to rescue his neighbor and crush, Christina (Maddie Ziegler), from her violent police commissioner father Glenn (Dean Norris). When Susan finds the book, she decides that the whole family will help to execute the idea.
"Our legacy isn't how many commas we have in our bank account," Henry says at the start of the trailer, which immediately sets him up as a precocious child who is, in many ways, the leader of his family. "It's who we're lucky enough to have in our lives and what we can leave them with." His mother is happy to defer to his guidance on many matters, including the family's finances, telling her friend Sheila (Sarah Silverman), "Find me another male of the species who's more grown up than him.
With his intelligence and heart, Henry isn't able to sit back when he realizes that Christina is being abused by her father, and he and his family put a plan in motion that involves everything from recording devices to secretive night missions to what appears to be a Rube Goldberg machine of some sort. "When someone hurts someone else, we have to make it better," Henry says.
Lee Pace, Bobby Moynihan, and Tonya Pinkins also star in the film, which is due out on June 16. While we wait, see all of the other movies we have to look forward to this year.
