Game Of Thrones Season 7 Promo Reveals Winter Has Come
At long last, we've got our first official promo for the upcoming seventh season of Game of Thrones, and it looks like everyone is preparing for winter with a nice, long walk filled with pensive stares.
HBO unveiled the new teaser (above), featuring the three major players for the throne: Queen Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey), Jon Snow (Kit Harington), and Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke). But there's also another threat looming: when Cersei exhales at the end, she hints that winter truly has come to Westeros as the Night King (Vladimir Furdik) appears. Does this imply that there's an otherworldly evil alliance in the works? It sure seems like it. Either that, or it's just really getting chilly.
Set to the song "Sit Down" by British rock outfit James, the clip is one of those rare, but awesome juxtapositions of the show's mythic setting with modern pop culture. (Well, in this case, pop culture from the '90s.)
The penultimate season of Game of Thrones will arrive July 16. Unlike previous seasons, it'll only feature seven episodes instead of 10, so we've got to soak up every moment. While we wait, take a look at everything we know about the upcoming season so far.
