New Transformers: The Last Knight Trailer Rewrites History
Prepare to rethink your history with the newest trailer for Transformers: The Last Knight. The bloody, action-y trailer reveals even more about how the history of the Transformers and teases that there's still a lot more to learn when the full film is released.
"It started as a legend," says Anthony Hopkins' Sir Edmund Burton in a voiceover. "One of the greatest of all. A thousand years we've kept it hidden, to protect earth from what was destined to arrive." The trailer then sets up the war between the Transformers and the Humans, which Burton calls "two worlds, colliding." "And now the greatest mission of them all– to turn the tide of human history," he says. "The imminent destruction of everything we know and love begins."
Saving the world will apparently come down to an alliance between Burton, Mark Wahlberg's Cade Yeager, Bumblebee, and Laura Haddock's University of Oxford professor Vivian Wembley, who teases that, "When all seems lost a few brave souls can save everything we've ever known." Also in the mix is Nickelodeon star Isabel Moner, who plays Izabella, a street-smart young girl who seems to develop a father-daughter relationship with Cade. "For my world to live, yours must die," Optimus Prime ominously teases at the end of the trailer.
Josh Duhamel, John Turtorro, Tyrese Gibson, Stanley Tucci, Benjamin Flores Jr., Santiago Cabrera, Jerrod Carmichael, and Mitch Pileggi also star in the movie, which was directed by Michael Bay based off a script from Art Marcum, Matt Holloway, and Ken Nolan. Akiva Godsman also contributed to the story for the film.
The Last Knight is set to be released on June 23, and it's just one of many upcoming Transformers movies, with Paramount saying that it has more than a dozen films planned. While we wait, check out the other movies we're looking forward to this summer.
