Keira Knightley Returns In An International Pirates Of The Caribbean 5 Trailer
You'll need to speak Japanese to understand the voiceover in the new international trailer for Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, but Keira Knightley is universal.
Disney unveiled a Japanese-language teaser, and it reveals that Knightley will be back as Elizabeth Swann for the fifth installment of the franchise. Although the British actress only pops up for a moment and doesn't say a word, it's kind of a big deal. It means that the whole Swann family will appear in the flick.
We already knew Orlando Bloom would be back as Will Turner, although he's still stuck as the new Davy Jones (and retaining his looks pretty well). But it was recently confirmed that Brenton Thwaites' character Henry is actually the son of Turner and Swann. It was previously unclear if Knightley would return for the sequel, having last appeared in a Pirates flick in 2007's At World's End.
Early reviews for Dead Men Tell No Tales have been positive, which is promising. Here's the official synopsis: "Thrust into an all-new adventure, a down-on-his-luck Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) finds the winds of ill-fortune blowing even more strongly when deadly ghost pirates led by his old nemesis, the terrifying Captain Salazar (Javier Bardem), escape from the Devil's Triangle, determined to kill every pirate at sea... including him. Captain Jack's only hope of survival lies in seeking out the legendary Trident of Poseidon, a powerful artifact that bestows upon its possessor total control over the seas."
We'll find out how much Elizabeth Swann factors into the equation when Dead Men Tell No Tales hits theaters May 26. It's definitely one of the movies you won't want to miss this year.
