Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 4 Would Feature A New Group Of Heroes
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is just days away from hitting the big screen, and while we can't wait to see Star-Lord return to action, we're already thinking about the future of our ragtag heroes. For example, how long will Gamora and Drax the Destroyer remain in the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Well, according to director James Gunn (pictured above), the current line-up of Guardians won't return for a part four. Talking with Screen Rant, the filmmaker admitted that the upcoming Vol. 3 will be "the end of this iteration of the Guardians of the Galaxy."
However, that doesn't mean the series is coming to an end. In a recent interview with the Toronto Sun (via Screen Rant), Gunn said we very well may get Vol. 4, only the roster would look quite different. "I think the first three movies tell a single story, and that story is pretty simple," Gunn said. "I think that there could be a Guardians Vol. 4, but it would not be the same. It would not be the same group...basically the story of this group ends with Vol. 3."
So perhaps one day we'll see a film featuring heroes like Vance Astro, Angela, or Martinex T'Naga, characters who've all been part of the Guardians at one time or another. Of course, we don't really have to worry about saying goodbye to Rocket and Groot just yet, as our favorite space scoundrels will show up in theaters on May 5. In the meantime, be sure to check out what the critics are saying about Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.
