Aquaman Casts Power Rangers Star Ludi Lin
Things are getting crowded under the sea, as Ludi Lin joins the cast of Aquaman.
Deadline broke the news of Lin's casting, revealing that the Chinese actor will portray Murk in the upcoming James Wan-directed DC film. Based on the original DC Comics character, Murk heads up the army of Atlantis, known as the Men-of-War, and he serves as Aquaman's devoted, trustworthy ally. Lin is no stranger to the superhero movie scene either, as he recently portrayed the Black Ranger in Lionsgate's Power Rangers reboot.
Lin will join Game of Thrones actor Jason Momoa, who takes on the titular role of Aquaman, the king of Atlantis. Warner Bros. pushed back the original release date from October 2018, to that December, with filming set to begin this summer.
Also starring in the film are Amber Heard as Mera, Aquaman's love interest; Nicole Kidman as Aquaman's mother; Temuera Morrison as Aquaman's father; Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta; Dolph Lundgren as King Nereus; Willem Dafoe as Dr. Vulko, an adviser and brilliant scientist; and Patrick Wilson as Orm, Aquaman's villainous half-brother.
Aquaman is set to swim into theaters on Dec. 21, 2018. Before then, fans can catch Momoa as the aquatic ruler this year in Zack Snyder's Justice League, which will be released Nov. 17. While we wait for both, check out the DC Comics movies that probably won't ever be made.
