Final War For The Planet Of The Apes Trailer Unleashed

Prepare for battle: the final trailer for War for the Planet of the Apes is here. The action-packed trailer is stuffed with new footage, highlighting Caesar (Andy Serkis) and his apes' deadly conflict against the humans, led by Woody Harrelson's ruthless Colonel.

The trailer begins with Caesar finding a young girl (Amiah Miller), who he brings back to back to live with the rest of the apes. "She has no one else," he says. "We are not savages. Apes only fight to survive." Caesar quickly realizes that the humans don't have the same moral code, as he runs into Steve Zahn's Bad Ape, who tells him, "Bad human kill ape. All dead now for long time, long time."

The trailer then flips over to the human side, where Harrelson's Colonel is giving a pump up speech to his troops. "Years from now, your children will ask you, 'what did you do in the greatest war?'" he says. "And you can tell them, I fought to protect the world. We created them, but now we will bring an end to their kind." The Colonel can later be seen again, talking to one of the apes about his respect for them. "You are impressive," he says. "You're smart as hell. You're stronger than we are. But you're taking this all much too personally."

The synopsis for the film teases that Caesar will have to go on a mythical quest to avenge his kind after the apes suffer unimaginable losses, and the trailer highlights that struggle. "No mercy, no peace," Caesar says. "I did not start this war, but I will finish it."

Karin Konoval, Terry Notary, Judy Greer, and Gabriel Chavarria also star in the film, which was directed by Matt Reeves (Cloverfield, The Batman) based off a script from Reeves and Mark Bomback (The Wolverine). The film is due out on July 14; in the meantime, see some of the other movies that will blow you away this summer.
