The Mummy Final Trailer Features Tom Cruise Fighting The Ultimate Evil

Evil is calling Tom Cruise in the final trailer for The Mummy. The upcoming reboot stars Cruise as Nick Morton, a man who unintentionally becomes entangled in the supernatural after he awakens the ancient Princess Ahmanet (Sofia Boutella).

The new trailer begins with the scene of the plane carrying Nick and Annabelle Wallis' Jenny Halsey being ripped apart. Cruise appears to die in the scene, but wakes up shortly after in a body bag without a scratch on him. His search for answers leads him to Russell Crowe's Dr. Henry Jekyll, who tells him that the only reason he survived is because he has been cursed by "the ultimate evil."

The ultimate evil is pretty quickly revealed, as Ahmanet begins to terrorize London. "Welcome to a new world of gods and monsters," Jekyll says (teasing the monster movie universe that The Mummy is intended to launch).

Nick has to uncover throughout the film just what the connection between he and Ahmanet is. "The very essence of evil calls to you know," Jekyll says, as Nick's pupils begin to double like the mummy's. While the connection definitely won't be good for Nick, it could also be the key to him putting Ahmanet back in her tomb, as Jekyll says that "it takes a monster to defeat a monster."

Jake Johnson and Courtney B. Vance also star in The Mummy, which is directed by Alex Kurtzman (Alias) based on a script from Jon Spaihts (Prometheus) and Christopher McQuarrie (Edge of Tomorrow). The movie, one of many that will blow you away this summer, is due out June 9.
