Tony Stark Plans An NBA Finals Party In Spider-Man: Homecoming TV Spot
So, is Tony Stark a fan of the Warriors, the Cavs, or the Celtics? A new TV spot for Spider-Man: Homecoming doesn't make the big reveal, but it does feature the superhero planning an NBA Finals watch party that Captain America is definitely not invited to.
The TV spot opens with a goateed Happy Hogan (Jon Favreau) asking Tony (Robert Downey Jr.) to finalize the guest list for his NBA Finals party. Tony asks if he invited "the kid," referring to Tom Holland's Peter Parker, but Happy says he hasn't because Tony told him to keep it "sophisticated." "Why do you hate fun?" Tony responds. The clip then reveals the reason behind Happy's new facial hair, with Tony saying that because his team lost, he has to look like Tony.
Peter does end up getting an invite to the party, which he sees while he's suited up taking down a bad guy. "So you're gonna let me go?" the webbed up villain asks him. "Nice try, buddy," Peter says, before swinging away.
Michael Keaton, Marisa Tomei, Jacob Batalon, Zendaya, Donald Glover, Laura Harrier, Tony Revolori, Bokeem Woodbine, Logan Marshall-Green, and Michael Chernus also star in Homecoming, which was directed by Jon Watts based on a script from Watts, John Francis Daley, Jonathan Goldstein, Christopher Ford, Chris McKenna, and Erik Sommers. The movie is due out July 7, and it appears that, with the NBA Finals partnership, we'll be seeing more footage in the coming weeks. For now, see why Homecoming will be better than you think.
