Ryan Reynolds And Samuel L. Jackson Duke It Out In The Hitman's Bodyguard Trailer
Elektra hires Deadpool to protect Nick Fury from Commissioner Gordon in the new trailer for The Hitman's Bodyguard. The action comedy stars Ryan Reynolds as Michael Bryce, an executive protection agent tasked by Elodie Yung's Interpol agent with protecting hitman Darius Kincaid (Samuel L. Jackson) from a ruthless dictator (Gary Oldman).
The new trailer begins with Bryce extracting a client and calling for "clean-up." It quickly shows that quite a bit of clean-up will be required, as his client's car explodes behind him. It then flashes to Oldman's Vladislav Dukhovich, "one of the world's most brutal dictators" who is currently standing trial. Kincaid is a key witness, and Interpol's job is to protect him until he can testify. However, Jackson pretty much immediately begins to doubt their ability to keep him safe, especially now that Dukhovich has set a price on his head.
Yung's Amelia Ryder recruits Bryce to protect an unnamed client, but when he and Kincaid meet, it's immediately clear that this isn't a partnership made to last. As Bryce points out, Kincaid has tried to kill him 27, no, 28 times, and, as Kincaid says, he thinks he would be safer on his own. However, the two are stuck together, and they embark across the country to get Jackson to the trial. "The only way Bryce and Kincaid don't make it is if they kill each other first," Ryder says.
Salma Hayek, Joaquim de Almedia, Kirsty Mitchell, Sam Hazeldine, and Richard E. Grant also star in the film, which was directed by The Expendables 3's Patrick Hughes based on a script from Fire with Fire's Tom O'Connor. The movie, one of many that will blow you away this summer, is due out on August 18.
