FP Jones Will Be A Series Regular On Riverdale Season 2

Riverdale could be spending a lot of time in prison in season 2Deadline reports that Skeet Ulrich, who plays Jughead's father FP Jones, has been upped to a series regular for the Archie Comics adaptation's second season.

"We so loved having Skeet on Riverdale last year, that we couldn't imagine Riverdale without him," executive producer Sarah Schecter said. "He's a stellar actor and we feel we have just scratched the surface of who FP is. We are excited to have Skeet continue on this journey and we can't wait for the audience to see what he is up to this year."

Riverdale's other series regulars include Cole Sprouse as Jughead Jones, KJ Apa as Archie Andrews, Lili Reinhart as Betty Cooper, Camila Mendes as Veronica Lodge, Madelaine Petsch as Cheryl Blossom, Ashleigh Murray as Josie McCoy, Marisol Nichols as Hermione Lodge, and Madchen Amick as Alice Cooper. New regulars for next season, in addition to Ulrich, include Casey Cott as Kevin Keller and Mark Consuelos as Hiram Lodge. The fate of Luke Perry's Fred Andrews, a regular in the first season, is still unknown after the season one cliffhanger.

Jughead's role increased throughout the first season, and the character's teased transformation at the end of the first season will likely play a big part in season two, so it makes sense that FP would play a bigger role as well. However, it will be interesting to see if FP remains in prison throughout the season or if his story moves outside of the jail cell.

Riverdale will return with its second season in the fall, where it will be paired with The CW's Dynasty reboot on Wednesday nights. While we wait, see how the show's characters should really look based on the comics.
