Teaser Released For Biopic About Wonder Woman Creator
A new biopic plans to dig deeper into the strange and storied history of Wonder Woman creator William Moulton Marston.
Beauty and the Beast's Luke Evans will lead the film as Marston, a psychologist and inventor who created Diana Prince in 1941. Marston lived with his wife Elizabeth Holloway Marston, a psychologist who will be portrayed by Iron Man 3's Rebecca Hall, and his former student Olive Byrne, who he had a romantic entanglement with. Byrne will be played by Pride and Prejudice and Zombies star Bella Heathcote. Connie Britton and Oliver Platt also star in the film.
The short teaser for the film, released just after the big screen Wonder Woman this weekend, doesn't give many of the film's visuals, but it does delve further into Marston's motivations. "Why don't you write it under your real name?" a mysterious woman asks him, referencing the pseudonym he used while writing comics. "Your superiors are going to fire you unless I tell them to do otherwise." "You're gonna give her to someone else?" Marston responds. "I created her. She's a smash success because of me." "I wonder if you're the one with a secret identity," the woman responds, as Byrne steps forward in an early version of Wonder Woman's classic costume.
D.E.B.S.' Angela Robinson wrote and directed Professor Marston and the Wonder Women, which does not have a release date yet.
