DJ Khaled Pops Up In Spider-Man: Homecoming NBA Finals Spot
Well, this finally explains why DJ Khaled was snapped filming a scene with Tom Holland and Stan Lee in April. The famous musician popped up last night in a Spider-Man: Homecoming NBA Finals spot, running into Peter on his way to watch the game.
In the spot, Peter is rushing out to get snacks for Tony's NBA Finals party (as you'll remember, he scored an invite in the first spot, but in the second was sent out for snacks by Happy before he even got to go upstairs). Suited up after taking down some bad guys in the last spot (with Stan Lee on hand to witness it), he runs into a local convenience store, grabs a box of crackers and gets in line– right behind DJ Khaled.
The two quickly recognize each other and realize that they're about to head out to the same Finals party. They're interrupted, though, by two women standing nearby, who ask if they can get a picture with Spider-Man. DJ Khaled takes quite a few before letting them go so Peter can get to the party to try and watch the game.
These Homecoming spots seem to have a story arc to them, so it's unknown how many Sony filmed. (Considering the series could end in as few as four games, with the Golden State Warriors currently up 3-0 over the Cleveland Cavaliers.) Still, the fun, cameo-laden clips are definitely a treat, and it'll be fun to see if Peter ever makes it to that game.
Robert Downey Jr., Jon Favreau, Michael Keaton, Marisa Tomei, Jacob Batalon, Zendaya, Donald Glover, Laura Harrier, Tony Revolori, Bokeem Woodbine, Logan Marshall-Green, and Michael Chernus also star in Homecoming, which was directed by Jon Watts based on a script from Watts, John Francis Daley, Jonathan Goldstein, Christopher Ford, Chris McKenna, and Erik Sommers. While we wait to learn the fate of Tony's celebrity watch party, see why Homecoming will be better than you think.
