Bill Nye Saves The World Is Getting A Second Season
Bill Nye will be back to save the world again. Netflix announced Thursday that the former science guy will be back for season two of his eponymous Netflix series Bill Nye Saves the World.
The date announcement begins by posting Twitter replies to Nye denying the science he teaches, with people questioning climate change and the gender identity and sexual orientation spectrum and calling Nye "nothing but a totalitarian eugenicist in a fake lab coat." The trailer then moves to Nye in said fake lab coat experimenting with a few different chemicals. "If Twitter is any indication, the world still needs saving," the trailer writes, before announcing that season two will be coming soon.
Season one, which premiered in April, paired Nye up with in-field correspondents including supermodel Karlie Kloss, YouTube scientist Derek Muller, Xploration Outer Space host Emily Calandrelli, and comedians Nazeem Hussain and Joanna Hausmann, with the group exploring issues like sex, global warming, GMOs, alternative medicine, and more. Special celebrity guests included Good Eats star Alton Brown, Project Runway host Tim Gunn, Scrubs stars Zach Braff and Donald Faison, EDM artist Steve Aoki. It's unclear who will be back for season two, although there are definitely lots of celebs out there who would love to try their hand at joining Nye in the lab.
There is no word yet on when the second season will premiere, although Netflix generally releases follow-ups a year after the previous season premiered. While we wait, read up on the untold truth of Bill Nye.
