Colton Haynes Joins American Horror Story Season 7
Another new face has joined American Horror Story's upcoming election-themed seventh season. Creator Ryan Murphy revealed on his Instagram account late Tuesday night that Colton Haynes, known for his appearances on Teen Wolf and Arrow, has joined the show in what appears to be a very messy role.
Murphy revealed the news by sharing a picture of Haynes with his mouth covered in smeared lipstick. There's no information on who he will be playing, and the actor is joining a season already shrouded in mystery. The season, which will be themed around the 2016 presidential election, is said to use the election as an "allegory," starting on election night and jumping off from there.
"It is about the election we just went through and what happened on that night and the fallout of that night, which to many people, from all sides of the camps is a horror story," Murphy previously said about the season. "And you know, that show is always so fun when it's about the zeitgeist and what we're doing now." Despite the use of an allegory, the season will still definitely feature real horror, as Murphy previously teased one of the show's terrifying new creatures on his Instagram.
AHS frequents Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson, Adina Porter, and Cheyenne Jackson are all set to return for the season, which will also bring in new cast members Billie Lourd, Billy Eichner, and Leslie Grossman. Like Lourd and Grossman, Haynes has experience working with Murphy before, having appeared on the creator's short-lived series Scream Queens. The actor recently had a role in Scarlett Johansson's summer blockbuster Rough Night and has also been seen in The Grinder and San Andreas. His other upcoming roles include the drama Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda, opposite 13 Reasons Why's Katherine Langford, and the drama Triumph, opposite Breaking Bad's RJ Mitte.
AHS season 7 is currently filming, with a premiere date set for this fall. While we wait to learn more, see some of the most shocking on-screen transformations the show has pulled off over the years.
