Better Call Saul Renewed For Season 4
Jimmy McGill will have more time to become Saul Goodman: Variety reports that AMC has renewed Better Call Saul for a fourth season.
The show stars Bob Odenkirk as McGill, the lawyer who would eventually become the slimy helper of Walter White on Breaking Bad. The series, which was nominated for seven Emmy awards in 2016 including outstanding drama series, comes from Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould. Jonathan Banks, Rhea Seehorn, Patrick Fabian, Michael Mando, and Giancarlo Esposito also star.
The series renewal comes as no surprise. The show's dramatic third season (which ended on a pretty big cliffhanger that we won't spoil here) was the third most watched scripted cable drama so far this year among viewers 25 to 54, averaging 1.98 million viewers in the demo after factoring in three days of delayed viewing. (It falls behind The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead.) The series averaged 3.7 million total viewers, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Despite the fact that the renewal was expected, it did come later than usual, so it's good to hear that the series is guaranteed to come back.
"Supporting artists we respect and admire; delivering truly outstanding character development and nuanced dramatic twists and turns; continuing a legacy of bold creative choices; loving writing that is the best in the business: Truly, 'S'all good, man,'" said Charlie Collier, president of AMC, SundanceTV and AMC Studios in a statement. "Congratulations to Vince, Peter, Bob and everyone involved with 'Better Call Saul.' Bring on season four!"
The 10-episode fourth season is expected to debut at some point in 2018. While we wait, see some of the small details in the series that only true fans understand.
