Watch The Trailer For Terminator 2: 3D
Arnold wasn't kidding when he said he'd be back.
James Cameron's 4K 3D conversion of Terminator 2: Judgment Day will get a theatrical release this August, and the first trailer promises that it'll be like seeing the sci-fi classic for the first time.
In the trailer, which plays more like a featurette, Cameron notes that many of the fans weren't even born when the movie originally hit theaters in 1991. "The images feel more real in 3D," he said. "There's a lucidity to it. You really feel like you're there."
A sequel to 1984's The Terminator, Arnold Schwarzenegger stars in the flick as a cyborg sent from the future to protect Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton) and her son John (Edward Furlong) from a shapeshifting Terminator (Robert Patrick) pursuing them. When it was released, the special effects were groundbreaking, and they're still impressive today.
Of course, Cameron is a big fan of 3D. Inquisitr reports that his Avatar sequels might screen in a new type of 3D that won't require glasses.
But you'll still need them for Terminator 2: 3D, which will hit AMC Theatres on Aug. 25. In the meantime, find out why the Terminator franchise might not be dead after all.
