Daniel Craig Reportedly Returning For Bond 25

Is Daniel Craig really stepping back into the role of Bond... James Bond?

According to a report by The Mirror (via ScreenCrush), it seems like a done deal. The outlet states that Craig, who has played the fictional British secret agent James Bond since 2005, has signed on to the upcoming (but yet untitled) Bond 25 film.

While the news is initially quite shocking given Craig's past statements regarding reprising the character, once stating he'd rather "slash [his] wrists than play 007 again," it looks like his change of heart could be legitimate. "Daniel Craig has changed his mind and is set to sign up for his fifth Bond movie," the report indicates. "His U-turn came after a host of British stars were tipped to replace him."

Longtime Bond producer Barbara Broccoli has reportedly "secured" Craig for the part, and is determined to bring back golden-voiced singer Adele to record the flick's theme song. The Hello songstress previously sang the title track for 2012's Skyfall, the 23rd installment in the James Bond film series. However, Adele returning to belt out a new tune goes against her previous comment in which she stated she'd never record another Bond theme again. "I would never do it again because it went so well and I would never want to jinx it," Adele said (via The Standard).

Though this is purely industry chatter at this point, as no official announcement has been made, we'll likely learn more in the near future. But if Craig actually returns to the silver screen to play Bond, something tells us many fans will celebrate with a shaken, not stirred, martini.

While we wait to for additional updates on Bond 25, check out the untold truth of James Bond.
