Stephen King's Castle Rock Series Finds Director

Castle Rock, the Hulu-exclusive psychological horror series from J.J. Abrams and Stephen King, has found a director for its pilot episode. Deadline confirms that noted television episodic director Michael Uppendahl will take the reins for episode one. 

Uppendahl has gained notoriety for his direction on multiple high-profile dramas. He's directed 11 episodes of Mad Men, nine of American Horror Story, six of Ray Donovan, five of Fargo, and three of Legion. Not only will Uppendahl helm the first installment of Castle Rock, but he'll also serve as an executive producer on the series. The show hails from Abram's Bad Robot banner and Warner Bros. Television.

It actor Bill Skarsgård stars in the series. He's joined by André Holland, Melanie Lynskey, Jane Levy, and Sissy SpacekDeadline provided a description: "A psychological horror series set in the Stephen King multiverse, Castle Rock combines the mythological scale and intimate character storytelling of King's best-loved works, weaving an epic saga of darkness and light, played out on a few square miles of Maine woodland."
