Disney Reveals Wreck-It Ralph 2 Details
Ralph has officially logged on.
During this year's D23 convention, Disney dished up new details for Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2 (via The Hollywood Reporter). The upcoming film, which is a sequel to 2012's adorable animated comedy Wreck-It Ralph, will follow Ralph (John C. Reilly) and Vanellope von Schweetz (Sarah Silverman) as they surf the web to track down a spare part to repair Sugar Rush.
As the pair traverse the Internet, they meet franchise newcomer Yesss, an algorithm who specializes in the viral parts of the web whom Ralph believes is just the person they need to aid in their mission.
Disney also unveiled a first look at the sequel, which features Vanellope teaming up with Disney's entire roster of princesses. Following the clip, the real-life actresses behind the royal characters took the stage. Ming Na Wen (Mulan), Idina Menzel (Frozen), Kristen Bell (Frozen), Jodi Benson (The Little Mermaid), Paige O'Hara (Beauty and the Beast), Linda Larkin (Aladdin), Anika Noni Rose (The Princess and the Frog), Mandy Moore (Tangled), Kelly MacDonald (Brave), and Auli'i Cravalho (Moana) all made appearances—a scene that brought the crowd to its feet.
Original film director Rich Moore (Zootopia) returns for the sequel, as do a number of voice actors. Joining Reilly as Ralph, Silverman as Vanellope, and Henson as Yesss are Jack McBrayer as Fix-It Felix and Jane Lynch as Sergeant Calhoun. Alan Tudyk, who voiced Turbo, previously stated that he wasn't sure if he'd reprise his role. Ugly Betty actress Ana Ortiz will also voice a small role in the film.
Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2 is due out in theaters on November 21, 2018, a few months after its original debut date of March 9, 2018. Until then, check out the Disney movie sequels you didn't know existed.
