Emma Roberts Will Be In American Horror Story: Cult
Emma Roberts will stir up some spooks on the next season of American Horror Story.
Series co-creator Ryan Murphy broke the news on Instagram, posting a snap of Roberts on the set of the upcoming season of AHS, officially titled American Horror Story: Cult. "Look who showed up on the set of Cult looking glamorous and ready for action," Murphy wrote. The photo shows Roberts wearing a slicked-back ponytail and tan coat, holding a large knife. Roberts later shared the picture on her own Instagram, captioning it, "I've joined AHS: Cult. Will you?"
Roberts made her first appearance in the chilling FX anthology series in 2013. She played the conniving wild child Madison Montgomery in the show's third season, Coven, and returned as the con-artist fortune teller Maggie Esmerelda in the fourth season, Freak Show. Roberts was absent from the fifth and sixth seasons, Hotel and Roanoke.
Joining Roberts for the newest season of AHS, set to focus on the 2016 U.S. presidential election, are series favorites Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters. The pair will play characters involved in what Murphy has described as "a love story for the ages." Cult also stars Teen Wolf actor Colton Haynes and Scream Queens standout Billie Lourd. Lena Dunham of Girls fame will guest star, with Billy Eichner, Cheyenne Jackson, Leslie Grossman, Frances Conroy, Adina Porter, Mare Winningham, and Alison Pill rounding out the cast. Unfortunately, series frequent Kathy Bates won't be a part of Cult.
American Horror Story: Cult is set for a September 5 premiere. In the meantime, check out the easter eggs that tie all the seasons together.
