Darren Aronofsky's Mother! Gets A Terrifying New Trailer

Prepare to be terrified with the first full trailer for Darren Aronofsky's upcoming thriller mother!. The movie stars Jennifer Lawrence and Javier Bardem as a couple whose relationship is tested when uninvited guests show up in their home, disturbing their peaceful existence.

The movie begins by showing that peaceful existence, with Lawrence revealing that she and Bardem spend all of their time in the home that she wants to make into a "paradise." "Are you happy?" she asks him. "I love you," he responds.

The disturbances quickly appear, though, as Lawrence finds a drop of blood on one of their carpet. Bardem then invites a new stranger (Ed Harris) into their home, and the situation soon becomes more complicated when his wife (Michelle Pfeiffer) shows up as well. Lawrence quickly scans through their luggage, finding that they are carrying pictures of Bardem. "What were you doing in their luggage?" he asks.

More and more people begin to show up at the home, causing Lawrence to get more and more upset. "They've come here to see me," Bardem tells her. "All I'm trying to do is bring life into this house. Open the door to new people, new ideas." As the trailer shows, though, it may not just be life that's coming into the house, as a ghostly presence begins to take over.

Mother! will hit theaters on Sept. 15.
