Stranger Things Creators Confirm Show Will Return For Season 3

The second season of Netflix's horror-throwback phenomenon of a series Stranger Things hasn't even touched down yet, but series creators the Duffer Brothers have already confirmed that the show will return afterwards for a third season, and likely a fourth after that.

The news comes from a feature on the brothers and the show that made them famous in Vulturein which they talk about their vision for the future of the series in the second season and beyond.

"We're thinking it will be a four-season thing and then out," said Ross Duffer. The brothers also confirmed that a third season is definitely happening, which considering the hype for the second season that's already built up, isn't too hard to believe.

They admit that going forward as the kids at the core of the cast grow may prove challenging, in a narrative sense. "We just have to keep adjusting the story," said Matt Duffer. "Though I don't know if we can justify something bad happening to them once a year."

"They're going to have to get the f*** out of this town!" added Ross. "It's ridiculous!"

The brothers are well aware of the anticipation building up for the show's continuing story, and encouragingly, it looks like they're putting in the effort to make the future seasons just as special as the first. "The fans online are like, 'What's taking so long!'" said Ross. "But there's a handcrafted quality to Stranger Things. We're a little controlling."

Stranger Things season 2 hits Netflix on October 27. Watch the trailer here, and check out our feature on Easter eggs in the show's first season that you may have missed.
