Gunpowder Teaser Stars Game Of Thrones' Kit Harington

Kit Harington is going from Westeros to 17th century England.

BBC One released the first teaser for Gunpowder, the three-part drama about the true story behind the Gunpowder Plot, the conspiracy to blow up the British House of Lords in an effort to assassinate King James I. The event is still commemorated in Britain each Nov. 5 as Guy Fawkes Day, named after one of the main conspirators.

However, it was Robert Catesby (Game of Thrones star Harington) who devised the plot, and the teaser cleverly alludes to that. It begins with a shot of Fawkes (Tom Cullen) who appears to be alone until the camera reveals Harington's Catesby behind him.

The show will be a "fast-paced" thriller that delves into the evolution of the plot, the selection of the team to carry it out, the gathering of the necessary resources, and the obstacles the team comes to face. It will also follow the story of Robert Cecil (Mark Gatiss), the spymaster of King James I whose network of spies pursued the plotters. Liv Tyler, Peter Mullan, Edward Holcroft, Shaun Dolley, and Robert Emms also co-star in the series executive produced by Harington.

The show will air Saturdays this fall. Meanwhile, take a look at some photos below and check out more TV shows that will blow everyone away this year.
