Watch The First Teaser For Amazon's Jack Ryan Series
The first teaser for John Krasinski's take on Jack Ryan is all about following the money. Amazon released a short preview for the upcoming series on Monday, revealing that a full teaser trailer will be coming at New York Comic-Con in October.
The clip follows one particular $10 bill, which starts in the hands of a young girl, who draws an identifying smiley face on it. However, from there, it goes through some nefarious dealings, ending up in the hands of terrorists. The terrorists seem to be found by the titular hero at the end of the clip, if the explosion in their money counting room is any indication.
The eight-episode series, based on the Tom Clancy novels of the same name, will put Krasinski in the title role that has previously been held in films by the likes of Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford, Ben Affleck, and Chris Pine. The show will follow the up-and-coming CIA analyst as he finds a pattern of terrorist communication that could threaten the whole world.
The rest of the cast includes Leverage and American Crime star Timothy Hutton as the CIA's Deputy Director of Operations; Sucker Punch's Abbie Cornish as Cathy Mueller, an infectious disease doctor and Jack's love interest; and 3:10 to Yuma's Peter Fonda as Cathy's father.
Graham Roland (Almost Human) wrote the pilot for Amazon's Jack Ryan series based on a story from him and Carlton Cuse (Lost). Krasinski will executive produce alongside Cuse, Roland, and Michael Bay, among others. The show is set to premiere at some point in 2018; for now, see which Jack Ryan actor replacement ruined the character's next movie.
